DISCOVERY SERIES STEREOMICROSCOPES
SteREO Discovery.V20/12/8
A new performance class
Are you engaged in demanding projects in biological or medical research, or in material analysis? If so, you will be interested in a new index of performance in stereomicroscopy:
SteREO Discovery series.
This innovative product line from the pioneer of the CMO (common main objective) design principle blazes a new trail for the future of CMO stereomicroscopes. The new performance level of the SteREO Discovery.V20 is based on new design features and technologies. More than 30 patents and patent applications guarantee that we will maintain that lead.
SteREO Discovery series at a glance:
• Plane-field apochromatic correction of the zoom optics
• High total magnification up to 525x with 10x eyepieces and 3.5x objective
• Highly accurate reproducibility of the magnification (>99% V20/12 models)
• Maximum resolving power of over 1500 LP/mm with PlanApo S 3.5x objective
• Excellent impression of space at high magnifications
• Ergonomic, reliable and reproducible operation and control
• Seamless integration into the modular system of SteREO microscopes
The System - Versatile, Flexible and Efficient
Stereomicroscopes of the common-main-objective (CMO) type are of modular design. The versatility and flexibility of the modules and components permit the microscope to be adapted very efficiently to many and varied applications and user requirements.
Here’s another advantage of the modular design: You can set up and fit out your SteREO Discovery as required – quickly and efficiently.
The SteREO Discovery modular system is composed of:
• Microscope bodies
• Viewing and intermediate tubes
• Interchangeable optics
• Carriers and stands
• Stages
• Illuminating and contrasting modules
• Documentation and image processing modules
Control - Innovative and Informative
SyCoP - The System Control Panel (optional)
The SyCoP System Control Panel is at the core of the new control philosophy. It has been specially designed for stereomicroscopes.
SyCoP combines joystick, pushbuttons and touchscreen with the convenient design of a computer mouse. Its operation is child’s play. SyCoP facilitates the reproduction of increasingly complex operating procedures. Its display informs you of the current optical settings of the microscope at a glance.
The SyCoP control panel at a glance:
• Compact, freely positionable unit with many facilities
• Zooming and focusing with a joystick
• Display of current optical data and statuses
• Buttons freely assignable to selected optical functions
• Connection of two pedal switches
• Memory function for single and combined functions
• Simple Z measurement to an accuracy of +/- 30 µm
• Focusing and light manager functions, and many more
HIP (Human Interface Panel)
is another compact control panel, which not only replaces the conventional rotary knob for motorized zooming and focusing, but also offers added memory functions and informs you about the current status of the system.
Mechanisms: Stable, Precise, Ample Working Space
Motorized Focusing (optional)
As the optical performance of modern stereomicroscopes increases, so do the technical and application requirements demanded of the stands. SteREO Discovery.V20 offers stability and ample working area in the object space. And you can rely on smooth, precise focusing up to the highest magnifications.
Fast or highly sensitive – the quality mechanism of the motorized focusing system works as precisely as a Switch watch movement. Novel, low-wear plastics provide a service life of 10 years.
Motorized focusing with Profile S Column at a Glance:
• Stepper-motor-controlled, low-noise focusing
• Intuitive operation via HIP and/or SyCoP
• Selectable speed profiles or focus manager
• Z-axis range 340 mm
• Smallest focusing increment 350 nm
• Carrying capacity up to 17 kg at the optical axis
• Simple Z measurement to an accuracy of +/- 30 µm
• Electronic specimen protection

PentaFluar S
Coaxial Fluorescence Module for SteREO Discovery Stereomicroscopes
Thanks to the discovery and harnessing of fluorescent proteins, the stereomicroscope has become a mainstream tool in molecular biology examinations. In addition to developmental and cellular biologists, there are an increasing number of materials scientists and quality inspectors who require highly resolved, rich-contrast, three-dimensional fluorescence images.
The PentaFluar S device turns any of the Discovery series into an efficient, powerful fluorescence stereomicroscope, ideal for observing, scanning and sorting genetically treated model organisms in developmental biology and molecular genetics research labs.
